There are more than 60 points worth of options below. You can pick which ones you would like to complete. You will not be awarded more than 60 points for your work, even if you complete all parts of the assignment.

Short Answer: 10 points

Please answer in full sentences and in your own words. Do not just copy and paste from the lesson.

  • Which fall is more common with the sadistic villains?
  • Which two mistakes did Lord Voldemort do?
  • How do you best avoid the scenario where you arm a captured hostage?
  • What mistake did Syndrome from The Incredibles do?
  • What are the characteristics of The Parasite?

True or False: 10 points

If the statement is false, correct it.

  • You have to hold the one thingamabob upon which everything hinges in a person's face.
  • The Fanatic is the uncompromising extremist that does wrong in the name of good.
  • Choosing incompetent and horrible followers is a pretty good idea.
  • You do not need to fall in love or have a wide group of friends to be a good villain.
  • The Patriarch is the family oppressor and smothers their loved ones.

Media Falls: 15 points

Pick a piece of media (movie, TV show, book, comic, video game, etc.) where a villain was famously defeated by the hero. Write a review of 150 words or more. Include a short synopsis, description of the final battle, what mistakes the villain did and what steps could they take to turn the conflict in their favor. Please take note that you must choose a piece of media that is HOL, or at least teen, appropriate. Do not use the examples in the lesson.

Art: 15 points

Through the use of any medium, illustrate a type of villain's fall that was mentioned in the lesson. It does not have to be particularly good (I know I am not a very talented artist), but you need to put an effort into your submission.

Pitfalls and Traps: 15 points

The heroes set several traps in order to make sure your villainous ways come to an end. Solve the hashi below and evade them.

Belle of the Ball: 20 points

Sometimes, villains get easily recognized on the street because they do not think their villainous ego needs to be different than their usual day-to-day one. Any hero with a hint of detective work can (and will sooner or later) find out your secret identity. Thus, you need to design your very own super-villain costume! And I need to see the before and after your evil transformation. It can be a drawing, a graphic, a sculpture, a photograph, or any other mean of art that you can think of! You can also use a doll maker program and create your own doll, but to put some work into it. Be creative! Also explain your artistic costume choices in a few sentences. You can also describe your costume but in that case, the description needs to be at least 150 words.

Creative Writing: 30 points

The day has come! The superhero has finally confronted you and you are in a final showdown. Depict the showdown in a story where you need to include at least two examples of the mistakes villains can make that were mentioned in the lesson. Have you succeeded? Or have you, as so many of your peers, fallen into the trap they present and lost? This can be a story, a diary entry or any other way you can think as long as it is written and of course, as long as it your own work. Please make your stories at least 300 words long for full points.

The Archetypes: 5-20 points

At the end of the lesson, I presented four villain archetypes to you. Your job is to find a villain in a piece of media that falls into one of these archetypes. Name them, the media from where he or she comes and why you think the villain fits this archetype. Your villain can be from any form of media (movie, TV show, book, comic, video game, etc.), as long as they are clearly defined as a villain and not an anti-hero, for example. If you did this option before, do not use the same villain as in previous assignments, whether they may fall into the archetype or not. You have to write 50 words or more on one villain to get full 5 points and you can do this four times for 20 points.
